A renowned transaction expert per excellence, an ardent commercial negotiator with extensive knowledge and experience in Energy (Power, Oil & Gas), Project Finance, Banking and Finance, Public-Private Partnerships, Regulatory Compliance and Stakeholder Management, Corporate Governance, Legislative Drafting, Company Secretarial Services and General Commercial transactional matters.

She holds an LLM in International Commercial Law from the University of Dundee, United Kingdom (Merit), another LLM in European Union Business and Taxation Law from the University de Cergy-Pontoise France (Distinction), a BL from the Nigerian Law School (Second Class Upper), a Bachelor of Law from the University of Lagos (Second Class Upper).

She holds numerous certifications from foreign institutions in various areas, including Energy, Project Finance, International Financial Markets Etc.
She has hands-on experience in legal services involving various economic sectors and over a decade C-Suite Executive Management Experience in Energy i.e., Power and Oil and Gas, with Power Generation and Distribution firsthand experience, which provided a global view of the Power Sector including Transmission and Power Retail dynamics. Kofoworola has executive management experience in Regulatory Compliance, On-Grid and Off-Grid Power Procurement, Renewable Energy Solutions, Mini Grid, Embedded Generation, Energy Economics (including financial modelling, tariff setting, MYTO reviews etc.), Power Management and Accounting, Energy Reconciliation, Power Business Development and Strategy.

Kofo is currently the Lead Advisor and co-founder of The Transaction Experts LP (TTE), a full-service legal and commercial consulting firm headquartered in Lagos, specialised in broad practice areas including Energy (Oil, Gas and Power), Project Finance, Banking and Finance, Capital Markets, Public Private Partnership, General Transactional Services, etc.
Prior to TTE, she was an Executive Management member and Chief Power Procurement and Regulatory Officer at Eko Electricity Distribution Plc. She successfully managed and supervised the heart of the power business including, Power Procurement (including Grid contracting, Renewables, Bilateral Power arrangements, Mini Grids, Embedded Generation, DERs, etc.); Regulatory Compliance and Reporting; Energy Economics (including tariff setting, financial modelling, power dispatch and allocation monitoring/reviews, payment settlements and attribution reconciliations; Grid Reading, Management and Reconciliation); Premium Business including MYTO + X transactions and premium power services etc.

Prior to her return to Eko Electricity Distribution Plc, she worked with: Transnational Corporation Plc (Transcorp Group) as Group Head Legal & Company Secretary (an African conglomerate comprising Power Generation Companies, Hospitality Businesses, Technology and Investment Companies); Eko Electricity Distribution Plc as Head Legal Advisory & Contracts and HoD Legal Advisory & Contracts; Banwo & Ighodalo as Associate Member of the Corporate, Securities and Finance Team; and Paul Usoro & Co. as Associate Member of the Solicitors Team both in Lagos Nigeria, where she was part of and led teams that successfully closed multimillion-dollar transactions in various fields.
She is a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute (Formerly ICSA) United Kingdom, Fellow, Institute of Credit Administration, Nigeria, and a Mentor on various academic and professional platforms. She is also a recipient of many awards, notable of which are her nomination to feature in the African Power & Energy Elites 2021 edition as a Leader in the Energy Sector in Africa, and her recognition as One of the 500 Most Influential Africans in the World under the Tropics Top 500 Power List.

She has contributed immensely to the development of regulatory framework required for successful implementation of a viable Power Sector in Nigeria, continues to be instrumental to the drafting of complex agreements and proffering of crucial advice on very critical industry regulations, rules, laws and issues generally which have had and continued to have profound positive impact within the Power Sector.
She is the Author of the highly resourceful and fast selling book: “The Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry – Post Privatisation Realities, Trends and Challenges” a 600 paged reference material which covers various aspects of electricity, including: basic knowledge of engineering; financing; policies; laws and regulations; business, negotiation and investment strategies; et cetera. This book has been adjudged one of a kind due to its detailed and extensive coverage of crucial issues within the Power Sector and has been adopted as a recommended text for postgraduate students in some Universities in Nigeria. She is a writer and periodic contributor of articles for publication on salient issues within the Power Sector in widely read and reputable newspaper in Nigeria, she was appointed and included on the Experts Roster for Rapid Response (ExpRes) by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
